Compensating axial play:
A precondition for play-free securing of a machine part (or of multiple parts) is that the total of tolerances of the axial dimensions of the parts to be secured by the Seeger ring and of the cut groove and its location, is less than the Seeger ring's compensation capabilities. If necessary, further axial play reduction can be achieved using shim washers.
